Information about the Trip
The German American Partnership Program is one of the most widely known and most successful exchange programs. Our partner school is the Greiz Gymnasium in Greiz, Germany. We will be staying in the homes of Greiz students for two weeks and then we will have a group trip for one week. If you have been a part of the program from the beginning, you will stay with your partner. If you are new to the program, you will have a partner from the Greiz group and you can get to know one another via email. The stay in Greiz includes visiting the school at least 10days, excursions to points of interest near Greiz planned by our partner school, and weekend trips with your partner families. The friendships from these exchange programs usually last for a lifetime. This partnership is approved by MacArthur High School and the NEISD.
The official chaperones for the trip will be Ms. El-Beheri and Ms Varney. There will be other adults accompanying the group. Parents are welcome to travel with us. Special arrangements will be made for the adults with the group.
The one-week trip will include visitingMainz-Manheim- Cologne-Rhine and Mosel River-Trier-Frankfurt -Berlin. We will visit castles, vineyards, museums, old churches and experience both the old fashioned and the modern aspects of German life.
The first planning meeting:
August 25, 2005 in Room A 205 at 7:30 PM.
