Baumberger Sr/Jr.
Charles Baumberger Sr. took over the Alamo Cement Company in 1897 just after the death of the president George H. Kalteyer. In 1908 the company was reorganized and the name was changed to the San Antonio Portland Cement Company. After Charles Baumberger Sr. retired from the company in 1910, his son Charles Baumberger Jr succeeded him. During Charles Baumberger Jr's lifetime he contributed to some of San Antonio's most amazing accomplishments. One particular feat of the cement company was that it is the oldest and was the best cement plant west of the Mississippi. Bibliography: |
