RULES:

There may be Two entries per school on each level: Level One, Level two, Level III and Level IV. This category is comprised of students reading prose, which they have not seen before. The student may look at the prose for only 60 seconds before reading it for the judges. Time limit per entry is 2 minutes.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:

1. PRONOUNCIATION:  Student reads with correct German pronunciation, intonation and stress? (0-60 pts)

2. USE OF VOICE:  Inflection, smoothness, pauses, use of punctuation. (0-30 pts)

3. GENERAL IMPRESSION: Delivery, eye contact, ability to be heard, poise.  (0-10 pts)
