important note to judges of all events
At Sprachfest/ Houstonfest/ Winterfest be sure that each school has only the number
listed in the category you are judging . Allowable
number is on the critique sheet.
If you are judging at STATE check that no one enters other
than those listed as having qualified in this category. No substitutes are
allowed.
If you have any questions about the level
of the competitors, about whether they are advantaged speakers, whether their
entry is the proper length, about the instructions given, or about any aspects
of the contest, please send to the Tab Room for help.
Please do not make any decisions, i.e.,
disqualifying a student or a group without first consulting with the Directors
of the contest. Thank you for your assistance.
Fill
in the information on the critique sheets.
Be sure the name of the contestant‚is on it, as well as the also: title,
author, etc. Evaluate the entry
according to the rules and the criteria on the evaluation sheet. We appreciate
any written comments that will help the students improve. Please do not reveal
your decision to the contestants or make comments like, "I'm a terrible
judge" or "I don't know what I am doing". If you judge carefully and evaluate fairly,
then you are rendering a valid decision.
