The 2009 German-Texan Heritage Society Scholarships
for first through fifth place winners
in the category "German-Texan Research Papers" at the Texas State German Contest.

$1000.00 first place; $500 to 2nd and 3rd places;
and $250 for 4th and 5th places from the
German-Texan Heritage Society.

when and where
Winners will be announced at the Texas State German Contest Awards
ceremony on February 28 at UT, Austin. Checks will be presented by
Wing Evans, President of the GTHS and by Mary El-Beheri, Director of the TSGC.

why
THE GTHS was founded in 1978 by three educators
( Mary El-Beheri, Dona Reeves-Marquardt and Anna Thompson).
It is important to the Society to promote educational projects.
The organizaton wants and needs the support of educators.

Who is eligible?
Students who win 1st thru 5th place at the TSGC.
Their teachers must be members of the GTHS at the time of their winning .
If a student wins and the teacher is not a member,
the award will be given to the next student in line for the scholarship.

*The Journal (ISSN 0730-3106), printed 4 times per year, is filled with extensive genealogical information, original essays, book reviews, reprints of articles from other publications (domestic and foreign), general history and preservation information.
