HIGH SCHOOL GERMAN TEACHER POSITION: TYLER,TX
Robert El Lee High School, Tyler ISD My German/French/(Spanish) position is available, as I will be
retiring in June. The district is Tyler Independent School District in Tyler, about 1½ east of the Dallas Metroplex off IH 20, and I'm at the larger high school, Robert E. Lee, with a student body of about 2600. (It's rumored that the district wants to revive the German program at John Tyler High, also.) We have just become an IB school this year with IB Spanish and French, and I have kept the German program alive the 19 years I've been here -- but it's time for a
younger, more energetic teacher! I'm afraid they'll let the program lapse if they don't find a replacement; I'd be happy to answer any questions or do what I can to help find another teacher! Our principal is Roger McAdoo roger.mcadoo@tylerisd.org Mary Delaney mary.delaney@tylerisd.org or delaneym@netzero.net

Anyone interested should contact department chairman Jason Dubose at jason.dubose@tylerisd.org or consult the district website and search under "employment" at ttp://www.tylerisd.org.

San Antonio Area

The German Program at Steele high school has been growing faster than we can teach it. Unfortunately we have 2 sections of German that we need another teacher to teach. If anyone is interested in working part-time, please contact me or Francisco Perez at fperez@scuc.txed.net to let us know. The drawback is that you would need to be certified and it is only part time to start with. If you are certified in Spanish/French and German that is a huge plus and possibly a full-time job!

It's a great place to work and the kids are a lot of fun! We are located just south of New Braunfels and north of San Antonio about 3 miles east of I-35.

SAN ANTONIO

Just want to let you know that there is a high school in San Antonio, Brackenridge, and they haven't had a German teacher since maybe October of last year. They haven't had one since then and now tomorrow is their last day of school and they will finish with nothing. I believe that 5 classes of students will not be receiving credit for time wasted sitting in an empty classroom where they couldn't find a teacher. I went to this school and I learned there so when I hear about this it makes me upset to know that there aren't people who care about the program like they used to.

I do know that there really isn't much to do about the administration, but we can always try.

Have a Great Day.
