NOTE From UT
It's a very cool Bundesrepublikanischer Adler with a Longhorn in the middle. White with burnt orange of course. Hope the Aggies don't mind. We ordered 500, the cost will be $8.00.
Sold on Feb 28 on a First come, First Serve basis .

They will be sold by the German Club at the UTC and also (if there are any left over) at the awards ceremony.

Basic Information about 2009 Registration

Lists of Qualifiers not attending must be emailed to the contest Director by or before Feb. 13, 2009

Absolute Final Deadline is February 20, 2009 for receiving entry fees.

Registration and "EARLY BIRD"payment deadline is February 13, which means the fee must be in Box 6872 on that date.


The Check must be made payable to: "Texas State German Contests, Inc."

Payment is $10.00 per student; $8.00 if payment is paid early. Payment includes all students registered. Timely registration and payment is necessary to provide for sufficient judging, payment for prizes and for preparation. Anyone not paid by February 20 (That means the money is already in my hands) will not participate or will pay a $15 registration fee per student. Receipts will be sent per email. There will be no onsite payment.

Texas State German Contest

2009 Gail Cope Scholarships

Eligibility Rules:

Students who have placed in the top five in three or more events at the 2009 Texas State German Contest are eligible.

The student must be nominated by the German teacher in the student’s school.
Only one entry per school may be nominated.
Recipients will be chosen according to how many awards each won at State in both individual and group events, using the contest point system. Ties will be broken by the 1oo words or less written by the nominating teacher.

 Deadline for entry is: March 10, 2009 (email entry form to: melbe@satx.rr.com and to gailcope@sbcglobal.net)
            All entries must be emailed.  You may type on this sheet and do away with the lines
. Just leave the headings and the table.
Scholarships of $500, $400, $300, $200 and $100
will be awarded to the top five winners by or before April 15, 2009.
