Mary's Techie Tips

New Technology for Storing  Information

Since most teachers are time challenged. I suggest looking into the “Jump Drives” for saving materials, especially if you plan to check it and then delete it or download it into a computer.  A jump drive can be put into any  U S B port in the computer so you can download your materials. If you have a computer with the Win XP operating system  you need no software to use the “Jump Drive”.

If have a Win 98 or others you can download free drivers from the “Jump Drive” company’s website.

If you check online or weekly electronic company ads, you can get some great bargains.

“Jump Drives” run from $15 to $200, depending on the size you need. Size being 64 MEG to 4 GB. Some good brands to check out are: Lexar, SanDisk, Iomega, Digitalway, Microflash, Sony, Simple tech, and PNY . Lexar and SanDisk have great weekly sales. I just ordered a PNY 1GB for $55 with a $15 reebate.
